Project Overview
As part of Fine Homebuilding's editorial team. Andres was tasked with documenting a multi-day ICCF (insulated composite concrete form) foundation install — a sustainable alternative to traditional poured concrete and CMU foundations, built with recycled EPS insulation instead of virgin polystyrene. Working solo across the full build, Andres captured on-camera interview footage (A-roll) with Ben Bogie, Director of Outreach and Education at BPC Green Builders, alongside complete process B-roll, still photography, and drone coverage of the install from first footing to final pour.
The result was a technical, image-driven feature built to give builders and homeowners a clear, credible look at a foundation system most of the industry hasn't seen in the field yet.
Process Breakdown
Site Prep — Establishing grade and layout before form work begins. Concrete Footing Forms — Strip footing layout and rebar placement. Concrete Footing Pour — Pour day, capturing the foundation's structural base. ICCF Block Install — Stacking and bonding the foam-adhesive ICCF blocks, securing vertical rebar. ICCF Concrete Pour — Final wall pour, completing the foundation system.

The Editorial Edit: Clarity over Promotion
